We heart paper boats too.

Children always attracted by rain. Maybe they just love the idea of this little wet world. Aidan sering saya biarkan main air di halaman belakang, membuat hujan dengan selang air. Tapi hujan beneran sepertinya akan lebih menyenangkan bukan? Jadi pada suatu hari saya mengijinkan Aidan main hujan-hujanan. Tentu saja mainnya pada saat hujan sudah tinggal rintik-rintik dan nyaris berhenti. Aidan senang sekali, walaupun baru sekitar 10 menit di luar, hujan sudah benar-benar berhenti. Karena ada genangan air. Iya, genangan air rupanya sangat menyenagkan bagi Aidan. Dia sibuk lari-lari di jalanan depan rumah, sengaja melewati atau lompat di genangan air. Maka, pada kesempatan berikutnya Aidan boleh main hujan, Aidan & Aira membuat perahu kertas dulu di rumah. Setelah perahu kertas warna-warni sudah jadi, mereka mencari genangan air untuk meletakkan perahu-perahu tadi. Memang perahu kertas tidak akan bertahan terlalu lama di air, tapi Aira & Aidan sudah cukup senang. Bagaimana kegiatan ini berakhir? Aidan lompat di genangan air, bikin ombak katanya, air membasahi kakak Aira yang kemudian berteriak kesal dan masuk ke rumah. Selesai deh mainnya. x)

A Cup Full of Stories

December has arrived.
Meaningless conversation over a cup of toffee nut latte. Not.
Not this year. The drinks stays the same, 
but the conversation got heavier, meaningful.
Is it a sign of maturity or a sign of insecurity?
I guess it's all of the above. But it doesn't matter, really.
Because the friendship still the same.
What matter is that I'll listen anyway.
Meaningless or meaningful, we'll still sit there, 
holding those cups of toffee nut latte.
Listening to each other, no judgment. Just listen.

Little Cookie Monsters

Liburan akhir tahun, jadi ada waktu kira-kira 2 minggu lebih yang harus saya isi agar 2 keributan di rumah gak bertambah ribut gara-gara bosan. Hari Selasa Aira & Aidan sempat pergi ke Kebun Binatang Ragunan dengan kakek-nenek. Maka hari Rabu saya mengajak mereka ke rumah nenek yang satunya lagi untuk membuat chocolate chip cookies. Numpang manggang ceritanya, berhubung oven di rumah hanya ada api atas saja, cuma bisa buat grill. Cooking & baking are two different things, in my opinion. Kemampuan memasak aja pas-pasan, apalagi membuat kue yang harus pakai takaran-takaran akurat. Jadi, cookies yang kami buat adalah chocolate chip cookies Betty Crocker yang tinggal tambah mentega dan telur lalu aduk-aduk, tuang-tuang, dan panggang-panggang. Yang penting Aira Aidan senang, boleh menuang dan mengaduk adonan. Mereka bahkan jongkok di depan oven menunggu kue matang. Lalu lebih senang lagi waktu kue sudah jadi dan rasanya enak. Ya iyalah, coba kalau bunda mesti bikin adonan dari nol, belum tentu juga enak. Hehehe.. Setoples cookies sudah jadi! Entah bertahan berapa lama 3 lusin cookies ini, melihat Aira Aidan yang gak berenti-berenti mengunyah. x)

Meet Dexter.

I always love Dexter's promotional pictures. They're often so dark & humorous, showing how twisted the series are. :D

The first time I saw the opening title, I think it was demented, but now I think it perfectly describing Dexter's character.

Hello, Dexter Morgan.

I was 4 seasons behind when I decided to buy Dexter season 1 dvds. But I instantly hooked. Me, the girl whose never really into thrill and murder stories. I finished all 12 episodes in two days, then went to buy all season 2 to season 4 dvds. Finished the next 2 seasons in a week. I hesitated to start watching the season 4, because I knew the 5th season hasn't come out yet, and the waiting would killed me. But I finally gave up and finished it in 3 days.

I'm not sure what is it about Dexter that fascinated me so much, all I know that I couldn't stop watching it. Dexter unlike any other tv series, it's dark and strangely gripping. The Dexter character is creepily amazing, I mean a forensic blood splatter analyst by day and serial killer by night? How creepy is that? Yet he's amazing. He is one of the most disturbing character I've ever seen in a tv series but I found myself rooting for him after just one episode. Even the opening title fascinated me. Those day-to-day morning activities that was being showed in the opening tells you exactly how Dexter character is, how sinister his nature is.  

And then there's also Michael C. Hall who played Dexter (in my opinion) perfectly. Plus the brilliant script writers. Yes, they're simply brilliant. There are always 12  pillow-gripping, dark, humorous, clever episodes in a season of Dexter. And I sometimes feel kinda sorry for Jeff Lindsay, the writer of the original novels Dexter was based on. Season 1 was based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter and slightly eclipsed by the tv series. He might be the one who created Dexter but for all I know the script writer of Showtime were the one whose perfected everything about Dexter. I once tried to read the novel, but I couldn't stop imagining it being narrated by Michael C. Hall's voice. I stop and decided to stick with the series instead. 

So season 5 started airing last night, stripping Monday to Friday on 10 pm and I'll be there, in front of my tv, following the life of a self-admitted monster known as Dexter Morgan.

Harry was a great cop here in Miami. He taught me how to think like one; he taught me how to cover my tracks. I'm a very neat monster.
