For Tomorrow

He's a twentieth century boy
With his hands on the rails
Trying not to be sick again
And holding on for tomorrow
London ice cracks on a seamless line
He's hanging on for dear life
And so we hold each other tightly
And hold on for tomorrow

Singing
La la, la la la, la la la la la la la la la
La la, la la la, la la la la la la la la la
La la, la la la, la la la la la la la la la
Holding on for tomorrow, oh, oh, oh, oh

She's a twentieth century girl
With her hands on the wheel
Trying not to make him sick again
Seeing what she can borrow
London's so nice back in your seamless rhymes
But we're lost on the Westway
So we hold each other tightly
And we can wait until tomorrow

We're trying not to be sick again
And holding on for tomorrow
She's a twentieth century girl
Holding up for dear life
And so we can hold each other tightly
And hold on for tomorrow

Jim stops and gets out the car
Goes to a house in emperor's gate
Through the door and to his room
Then he puts the TV on
Turns it off and makes some tea
Says, "modern life well, it's rubbish"
I'm holding on for tomorrow

Then Susan comes into the room
She's a naughty girl with a lovely smile
Says, "Let's take a drive to Primrose Hill
It's windy there and the view's so nice"
London ice can freeze your toes
Like anyone I suppose
I'm holding on for tomorrow

-Blur

A song of London suitable for our introduction to the city. :)

This Is a Low

And into the sea goes pretty england and me
Around the bay of biscay and back for tea
Hit traffic on the dogger bank
Up the thames to find a taxi rank
Sail on by with the tide and go asleep
And the radio says

This is a low
But it won't hurt you
When you are alone it will be there with you
Finding ways to stay solo

On the tyne forth and cramity
There's a low in the high forties
And saturday's locked away on the pier
Not fast enough dear
On the malin head, blackpool looks blue and red
And the queen, she's gone round the bend
Jumped off land's end

Under The Westway

There were blue skies in my city today
Ev'rything was sinking
Said snow would come on Sunday
The old school was due and the traffic grew
Upon the Westway
Where I stood watching comets lonesome trails
Shining up above me the jet fuel it fell
Down to earth where the money always comes first
And the sirens sing

Bring us the day they switch off the machines
'Cause men in yellow jackets putting adverts inside my dreams
An automated song and the whole world gone
Fallen under the spell of the distance between us when we communicate
Still picking up shortwave
Somewhere they're out in space
It depends how you're wired when the night's on fire
Under the Westway

Now it's magic arrows hitting the bull
Doing one eighty still standing at last call
When the flags coming down
And the Last Post sounds
Just like a love song
For the way I feel about you
Paradise not lost it's in you
On a permanent basis I apologize
But I am going to sing

Hallelujah
Sing it out loud and sing it to you
Am I lost out at sea
'Til a tide wash me up off the Westway

Pretty Words

And I might as well grin and bear it
Because it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case I'd rather wear it
It's like a badhead in the morning

~Badhead

I've seen so much
I'm going blind
And I'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again

~ Coffee & TV

I get up when I want except on wednesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen
I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea and I think about leaving the house
I feed the pigeons I sometimes feed the sparrows too
it gives me a sense of enormous well being
And then i'm happy for the rest of the day safe in the knowledge
there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it

~ Parklife

and you've been so busy lately
that you haven't found the time
to open up your mind
and watch the world spinning gently out of time

~ Out of Time

All your life you're dreaming
And then you
Stop dreaming
Time to time you know
You're going on another bender
Yes There must be more to life
Than stereotypes

~ Stereotypes

Tender is the night
Lying by your side
Tender is the touch
Of someone that you love too much
Tender is my heart you know
I'm screwing up my life
Oh Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

~ Tender

And into the sea goes pretty england and me
Around the bay of biscay and back for tea

~ This Is a Low

Well you and I
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it, yes it looks like we've made it to the end

~ To The End

Badhead

So far I've not really stayed in touch
Well you knew as much it's no surprise that today
I get up around two from a lack of anything to do

And I might as well just grin and bear it
'Cause it's not worth the trouble of an argument

And you have not really stayed in touch
Well I knew as much it's no surprise that today
I get up around two with nothing to do
Except get a touch of flu

And I might as well just grin and bear it
'Cause it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case I'd rather wear it
It's like a badhead in the morning

And I might as well just grin and bear it
'Cause it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case I'd rather wear it
It's like a badhead in the morning

Top 10 Blur Songs.. Kinda..

Oh this would break my heart, even more than when I listed down my top 10 Radiohead songs.  But again, if  someone pointed a gun at my head and force me to make a list of my top 10 Blur songs, I guess this would be it:

1. To The End
2. Under The Westway
3. This Is a Low
4. The Universal
5. Badhead
6. Country House
7. End of a Century
8. Parklife
9. It Could Be You
10. For Tomorrow

Then I would beg the guy with the gun to my head to let me add 5 more songs:

11. Out of Time
12. Sunday Sunday
13. Charmless Man
14. Tender
15. There's No Other Way

And then, I might have to tell him to screw it, since I still had to add She's So High, Tracy Jacks, London Loves, On Your Own, Coffee & TV, No Distance Left to Run, Trimm Trabb, and a whole lot more. There's no way 10 is enough. :)

To The End

All those dirty words
They make us look so dumb
Been drinking far too much
And neither of us mean what we say

Well you and I
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it
Yes it looks like we've made it to the end

What happened to us
Soon it will be gone forever
Infatuated only with ourselves
And neither of us can think straight anymore

Well you and I
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it
Yes it looks like we've made it to the end

Happy 311 Day!

How Do You Feel ~ 311

I'm alright, I feel real fine
I don't live a life that's uptight
When there's a fight there's struggling
I can't roll through the world without offering
Questions, what's my direction
Break in the grip of depression
It comes in the day when you let things go
There comes a time to rock a show

You know the time that you feel
That nothing else really matters
Here on this spot in the world
That you belong

That's where I am when the lights going down
I'll find a way to make some fun
I know there is a leak of energy
Through someone

How do you feel?
Cause I couldn't ask for a single thing more
How do you feel?
The moment you know just what you were for

I'm on a quest with a vision
I've got love and tradition
I'll wear a mask that grins and laughs
So remember what I've done
I'm a vibe under the sun
I penetrate all dimensions
I've come again, rejuvenate within
I'm future animation

I feel the fuel rushing through my veins
In sunburn and flames
You can take on the world
It's all in your brain

How do you feel?
Cause I couldn't ask for a single thing more
How do you feel?
The moment you know just what you were for

Skyfall

Gonna be some spoilers, better skip this if you haven't watch the movie.

2 words about this film, I like. I like everything about it. I like how Daniel Craig portrayed James Bond, I like Javier Bardem perfect villain. I like that the portion of the Bond girls was just enough, no girls joining Bond in the main action, shooting around and playing hero alongside my hero. I like the all new young Q, black Moneypenny, male M at the same time that I like the old classic Aston Martin and the fact that there were no state of the art gadgety weapons. I like how Craig's Bond seem to have more meaningful dialogues compare to the previous film. I like the opening scene, I like Adele's Skyfall song. I like how they bring the action back to London, and then Scotland. I like how they put enough portion of funny at the right time, or drama too as a matter of fact, alongside the action scenes. I like how some detail were not classic James Bond but somehow the movie brought back everything classic about James Bond. I like. Happy 50th Anniversary, Mr. Bond.

"If Casino Royale was Bond finding his footing, Skyfall is him remembering where he left it - a clever turnoround  made all the more effective by giving 007 an adversary who, for much of the film, is crossing the finish line while Jimmy's putting on his trainers" ~ from Total Fim

"But Mendes has managed to breathe dramatic life back into the action franchise, while managing not to lose any of the charm that makes Bond, well... Bond." ~ from The Telegraph

"Fast-paces, stylish and feeling a snippet of its 143 minute runtime, if Casino Royale was the Batman Begins of the Bond franchise - re-birthing a new vigour into the character - then Skyfall is the franchise's The Dark Knight. It takes the character to new heights, not just with action and beauty, but with depth. This is Daniel Craigs's Bond, and now, after three films, he has finally made it 100% his own." ~ from Eat Sleep Live Film

Houdini

Houdini ~ Foster The People

Rise Above gonna start the war
What you want whatcha need whatcha come here for
Well an eye for an eye and an F for fight
Taking me down as the prisoners riot

Got shackles on, my words are tied
Fear can make you compromise
Fast enough it's hard to hide
Sometimes I want to disappear

When I feel kinda bad and I'm all distressed
Pass it off on a better day
Well you got whatcha want whatcha never knew
Perfect gift from me to you

Got shackles on my words are tied
Fear can make you compromise
Fast enough it's hard to hide
Sometimes I want to disappear

Raise up to your ability
You never knew that I could find
What could come when we realize
The sun won't stop with the compromise

Raise up to your ability
Can't stand while I disappear
Run around before I'm filled with fear
Like a glue cause my life is filled with red

Raise up to your ability
I know that you wanna
Throw me into the sea
For my ability

Raise up to your ability
Yeah you're undecided
Yeah I just want to leave it
Yeah I'm gonna wanna runaway

Focus on your ability
Now focus on your ability
Gain again what they want to steal
Gonna gain again what they want to steal

On Melacholy Hill

On Melancholy Hill ~ Gorillaz

Up on melancholy hill
There's a plastic tree
Are you here with me?
Just looking out on the day
Of another dream

Well you can't get what you want
But you can get me
'Cause you are my medicine
When you're close to me
When you're close to me

So call in the submarine
'round the world we'll go
Does anybody know, love
If we're looking out on the day
Of another dream

If you can't get what you want
Then you come with me

Up on melancholy hill
Sits a manatee
Just looking out on the day
When you're close to me
When you're close to me

When you're close to me

On repeat this week

Doncamatic ~ Gorillaz Feat. Daley

Down lowly
Make up for the time you've wasted
Come slowly
And claim back the boy you left behind

Close the white book
Unplug the brain from the game
'Cause it's time to wipe out
To the stars
Get on the fame

The song is not the same when we're
All played out, played out, all played out
They said the memories
All played out, fade out, all played out
Tell me did you feel that?

Don't slow down
Even if it's only to escape
Just down, low down
Before somebody steals your place man

Close the white book
Unplug the brain from the game
'Cause it's time to wipe out
To the stars
Get on the fame
And the conversation's over

We're all played out, played out, all played out
Talk to me, talk to me
You see the memories
All fade out, fade out, all played out
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me
Tell me did you feel that?

Owner Of A Lonely Heart

A couple of days ago I was chatting with Syarin, about how songs or music that we listened when we were little would forever stuck in our head. Obviously most of them were the music that our parents listened to. Syarin told how how she remembered cruising around in the car with her dad when she was little, listening to The Beatles. So The Beatles was her childhood music, ergo will always stuck in her head, in a good way I believe.

Then it got me thinking, what was my childhood music. Well, Genesis would be the answer. The cruising around in the car with the dad, while Syarin listened to The Beatles, I listened to Genesis. Oh, and Yes, too. Owner Of A Lonely Heart surely had been embedded in the back of my mind. My Aunt said that I hummed that song while playing with my dolls when I was little. I wonder what songs or music that Aira and Aidan will remember from their childhood. :)

I know, this one post filled with nonsense, but hey, thinking gibberish, talking nonsense, writing whatever comes to mind? Well, this nonsense happened to be in my mind rite now, so I'm writing it. There you go.

Speaking of Jim Sturgess

Speaking of Jim Sturgess, he's one of my guilty pleasure guy. Yes, I sometimes spoiled my eyes with some pretty boys, and Jim Sturgess definitely one of them. Have you seen Across The Universe? If you did, you'll understand why. First, I have a soft spot for Brit guys. I spent my teenage life in the 90's, listening to Britpop music, so yeah, guys like Damon Albarn will always caught my eyes. There you go, 2 reasons why I swoon aver Jim Sturgess, he's the typical Brit guy that I like and he can sing. Plus the first time I hear him sing was a bunch of my favorite Beatles songs, then I found out he sings other songs too. I couldn't possibly ask for more.

Bulletproof.. I wish I was

Limb by limb and tooth by tooth
Tearing up inside of me
Every day every hour
I wish that I was bulletproof

Wax me mold me
Heat the pins and stab them in
You have turned me into this
Just wish that it was bulletproof

So pay the money and take a shot
Lead fill the hole in me
I could burst a million bubbles
All surrogate and bulletproof
